Galata Museo del Mare

The “Galata Museo del Mare” is the largest place in Italy dedicated to the centenary relationship between man and sea.
It is situated in the Antique Port, in the old Armory of the repubblic of Genua, building of the XVI century.
Following a chronological path, the itineary starts from the paddle boats, continuing on the course of the big sailboats and the revolutionary geographic explorations, ending with present days. On roof, the panoramic terrace offers a 360° view on the city and on the port.

La città dei bambini e dei ragazzi

Game, science and  technology are the themes of “La città dei bambini e dei ragazzi”, the first great centre in Italy fully dedicated to children and youngs from 2 to 14 years old, open for famiglie, groups, schools and teachers.
La città dei bambini e dei ragazzi was born in ‘97 by Porto Antico Spa and in cooperation with La Cité des Enfants di La Villette-Parigi, the first structure fully dedicated to childrens in Europe. La città dei bambini e dei ragazzi brings childrens and youngs closer to science and technology through games, with the goal of learning with fub.

Bigo

Built in ‘92 by Renzo Piano in the occasione of the celebrations of the city for the 500 years of the discover of America by Cristoforo Colombo, the panoramic lift Bigo allows people to watch Genua from another perspective and its Port.
It goes up to 40 metres with 66 people.

Biosfera

The Biosphere is a big stell and glass structure, with a diameter of 20 metres weighting 60 tons.
Projected by Renzo Piano, it has been built in the antique port for the G8 of Genua in 2001.
Since october 2003 in the Bubble there are tropical animal and vegetable organisms.
Historical collections of the Municipality of Genua gave rare specimens of tropical trees.
This small but rich botanic garden, where  butterflies, birds, like purple ibis, freely flight, with amphibians and reptiles, represents beauty and complex fragility of tropical forests. A digital system controls the climate, controlling temperature fog and air pressure.
